03 / Before you begin

A few useful
answers.

Local processing. Practical choices.

What does my PC need?

Current guidance: x64 Windows 10 build 19041 or later, or Windows 11; 4 logical processors; 8 GB RAM; a microphone; 2 GB free space plus speech models.

A smaller model reduces waiting on modest hardware. The app’s experience indicator estimates suitability from CPU count and RAM; it is not a speed control. GPU support and storage also affect performance.

A dedicated graphics card is optional. For NVIDIA GPU acceleration, a practical starting guide is 2 GB VRAM for Small, 4 GB for Medium, and 8 GB for Large v3. These are suggested card capacities, not minimum requirements; other apps also use GPU memory. Parakeet runs on the CPU.

How do I get started?

Start with the Buy now page. Once you have your installer and licence, install Blabbermouth, activate your licence and download a speech model. Then select your microphone.

Activation: General → Licence → Licence key → Activate Blabbermouth.

Can I move my licence?

A licence supports two Windows profiles. Choose General → Licence → Deactivate this installation to free a place. Contact support if you cannot access an old installation. Never email your full Licence Key.

What happens to my audio?

The latest microphone recording stays in memory for retry. You can explicitly save it as a WAV file; it is not written automatically.

What can I expect from Dictate?

English speech to English text, in supported Windows fields. Review important names and numbers. Accuracy varies with your model and recording.

04 / Local translation

Your words.
More languages.

Speak English. Write in French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese or Dutch, plus more.

Keep it on your PC. Download a language pack, then translate your dictated words locally.

Into English, too. A compatible multilingual speech model turns supported speech into English text.
